Research: Quality Alpha

What It Tries To Do

quality_alpha looks for high-quality companies first. Price trend can be used as a confirmation, but the main idea is to own financially strong businesses.

How It Decides

The strategy checks metrics such as ROE, ROCE, debt/equity, net margin, and free cash flow. It can also require the stock to be above its 200-day average.

Simple Example

A company with high returns on capital, low debt, strong margins, and positive free cash flow can qualify even if it is not the fastest-rising stock.

When To Use It

Use it for slower, fundamentals-led equity research. Monthly or quarterly rebalance is usually more natural than daily trading.

What Can Go Wrong

High-quality companies can become overpriced. Quality alone does not guarantee good future returns.

How To Read Results

Check whether returns come with lower drawdown and lower turnover. Also inspect valuation-sensitive periods where quality stocks may have been expensive.
